It was 1982 when Linda Powell moved to Oklahoma from Arizona to build and open a restaurant set in the atmosphere of an old log cabin. "I always wanted to live in a log cabin" Powell said.

It took two years to put the project together and build the building. "It rained so much during the Spring, I thought I needed web feet" said Powell who utilized a 3 bedroom (with garage) log cabin kit to attain the basic structure. During the design and building process, Powell moved windows and walls to suit her taste in appearance.

After opening, the clientele has been loyal to Molly's Landing keeping the Five Star Steak House going over the years. Even during the down turn in the economy of recent months Molly's continues to provide the very best of service and quality to customers that travel as far away as 100 miles to dine in the log cabin motif.

Powell said "we made it through the oil bust of the 1980's and we will make it through these times as well."

Powell says "the secret to her success is treat the customer right and treat the employees right and both will support you." The turnover is relatively low at Molly's. One employee has been with Powell since the opening.

Powell gives her employees a gift after ten years service - a diamond. She has presented 6 diamonds over the years and will present 2 more this year.

"Just the other day a couple returned to celebrate their 15 year anniversary. They were here when he proposed to her and keep coming back each year without fail" said Powell.

Molly's offers Private Dining, Christmas Party's and a host of other entertainment slash dining events. There have been many weddings held either inside the steak house or on the grounds utilizing the grapevine gazebo.

For receptions and large parties, Molly's has an underground pit that will handle a half side of beef. Once used to host a party for over 175 graduating law students and their spouses, the underground pit further enhances the log cabin - out in the country feeling.
